New Story: Premise, Logline, Step Outline and Script

PREMISE

A Flamboyant Cuckoo Clock

The small wooden bird's appearance inside of a cuckoo clock becomes more and more flamboyant and extravagant with each passing hour until it eventually bursts into a lively dance.

LOGLINE

The story centers around a strange cuckoo clock against a plain white backdrop and the time shown is 10:59. The minute hand ticks to 11:00 and the doors swing open. A cuckoo on a long wooden stick pops out, cuckoos, then zips back in. The hour hand strikes 12 and this happens once again, but this time with more elaborate wings and tail feathers.

The hour hand strikes two more times and finally on the second hour, the cuckoo bounds out of the small double-doors, fully clad in a swinging 60's disco costume with an Elvis hairstyle and begins to dance to "Don't feel like Dancin'" by the Scissor Sisters.

SCRIPT

FADE INT. WHITE ROOM

A single cuckoo clock is alone inside the room, ticking away at 10:59. The ticking grows louder as the seconds pass. Eventually, the clock strikes 11:00.

A cuckoo bird on a long, plank-like perch extends from the double doors and cuckoos loudly before being yanked back in.

Once again the clock ticks as the hour hand moves to 12:00. The cuckoo bird once again pops out of the clock with a loud cuckoo. Its tail feathers are slightly longer and its slightly more elaborate wings extend outward as if presenting itself before the doors slam shut.

The hour hand strikes 1:00 and the bridge extends outward, revealing an even more elaborate cuckoo bird, this time dressed in a 60s style outfit and sporting a small quiff atop its head like that of Elvis. Its tail feathers and wings still grow.

The bird strikes a pose before being dragged back in.

The clock strikes 2:00.

Only the perching board is pushed out this time, the doors wide open with no cuckoo bird to be found. Soon after, the bird jumps out of the doorway and spins mid-air before landing on the end on its knees, sporting a pair of shades and an extravagant plume of feathers on its wings and tail.

Scissor Sisters' "Don't Feel Like Dancing"'s main chorus begins to play and the cuckoo bird stands up, dancing along with it in a combination of classic disco moves, elaborate ballet movements and other random dances.

It moonwalks back over to the middle of the plank and proceeds into the 'night fever' dance move before jumping sideways, spinning in the air, then landing on its toes.

It then transitions into a Russian Kosachok, then stands up and imitates the Napoleon Dynamite dance.

Nearing the double-door entrance, it moonwalks back into them before the perch darts back in and the doors close.
